Stop Smoking - Nicotine Gum

Stop Smoking – Nicotine Gum

Nicotine Gum is used by to help stop smoking and is a form of Nicotine Replacement Therapy. Nicotine Gum works in a similar way to nicotine patches in that it delivers nicotine to the now non-smokers body to help ease the withdrawals from cigarettes.

Using nicotine gum means that nicotine reaches the brain much less quickly than cigarettes – and is therefore a less intense “hit” of nicotine to the smoker. The nicotine gum is used in this way to help ease the body away from nicotine intake.

Nicotine Gum is not meant to be chewed continuously – it differs from normal chewing gum in this way. Nicotine Gum is meant to only be chewed once or twice and then placed between the back teeth and the cheek – nicotine is then absorbed into the blood stream through the skin lining the cheek.

Only a certain amount of gum is meant to be chewed every day – depending on former smoking habits and nicotine gum is meant to be only a temporary measure to help overcome smoking cravings.
